it managed to raise the budget for the ambitious project, AFP reported.The biopic will be produced as a series of “seven films – instead of three films as per an earlier announcement – with a total budget of $1 billion,” Alnoor Chairman Ahmed Al-Hashemi said in a statement.The series will be filmed in English, but also translated into several languages “to correct the wrong image Western societies have of Islam.”A crew of experts reportedly “finished writing the scenario after overcoming numerous artistic and dramatic challenges.” According to AFP, the head of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Qatar-based Sunni cleric Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi, is in charge of the research on the film and serves as technical consultant on the project.The biopic is to be produced by the Hollywood film guru Barrie Osborne, best known for his work on “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”.Earlier this year, a low-budget movie “Innocence of Muslims”, created by a 55-year-old Egyptian born American, sparked protests across the Muslim World over the movie’s portrayal of the Prophet Mohammed as a womanizing, criminal paedophile. According to the National Post, protests resulted in at least 75 deaths and hundreds of injuries.The American actors engaged in the film revealed they were duped into working on the movie and that heavy editing resulted in much of the film’s message and dialogue being altered in post production.
